At the fair, shoppers can expect to find everything from cookware and glasses to tools and Christmas greens and wreaths. “There will also be some baked goods and, of course, some jewelry,” said Steven Melbourne, chair of the Christmas Fair. “We also have some linens and toys. It is so much fun to look for bargain items.”
On Sunday, Dec. 3, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., GCC will host its Annual Tree Lighting Service, which will include singing of carols followed by a brief service led by their youth. After the service, cookies and hot chocolate will be served in GCC’s fellowship hall.
According to GCC Pastor Michael Graham, the holidays serve as a reminder as to why these days are celebrated. “Thanksgiving nudges us to live a more grateful life while Christmas reminds us that even in life’s darkest seasons there are flickers of light,” he said. "Our various holiday events allow us space to connect with others outside of a Sunday morning in many differing, meaningful ways."
