One of the most difficult times for families is the death of a loved one. At the Gilford Community Church, our staff are available to both the church family as well as the greater community. A memorial service or celebration of the life of a person is a very sacred time when the church needs to be there for families. It is our belief that the style of a service or remembrance is driven and guided by the members of the family with the assistance and guidance of the pastor. Please feel free to call the church office anytime and we will be happy to assist you.
Our church Funeral Reception Coordinator is available, along with her committee of volunteers, to coordinate, free of charge, a light luncheon and/or array of finger desserts to follow the funeral service of a church member. This reception takes place in our Fellowship Hall. Though this is a free service, occasionally food donations from the congregation are inadequate, and food needs to be purchased. The family is asked to reimburse the church for incidentals beyond donations. The family is also free to hire their own caterer, at their own arrangement and expense, for a larger, more formal gathering.
Non-members are not charged for the use of the sanctuary, but for those who like a reception to follow their service, they are encouraged to hire a professional caterer.
