The Flower Committee is an official committee of the church under the Diaconate. The primary duty of the Flower Committee is to make sure that there are flowers under the cross and/or in front of the pulpit every Sunday. The sign-up sheet for flowers, which is downstairs in Fellowship Hall, is an opportunity for people in the church to dedicate flowers in memory of or in honor of someone on any given Sunday. The Flowers Committee member who is in charge of flowers for that Sunday is responsible for arranging the flowers for the person who is dedicating them. If the person dedicating the flowers wishes to arrange or supply flowers themselves, they may do so.
The Flower Committee is responsible for decorating the sacntuary for Christmas and at Easter. The committee places Christmas or Spring Time wreaths on the outside doors of the church and they plant spring and fall flowers in the outdoor urns.
The Flower Room of the church ("The Sacristy") is a lovely room fully equipped for flower arranging.
