The Diaconate is responsible for all activities related to the worship service. This includes the posting of hymn numbers on the board, the distribution of bulletins, the removal of discarded bulletins from the pews, the preparation of communion elements, the issues with the sound system, the change of worship time in the summer, the temperature of the sanctuary, etc.
The Diaconate arranges for Head ushers and ushers for each Sunday service. Usher duties include greeting people at the door, distributing bulletins, and helping to take the collection during the service.
The Diaconate prepares and serves Communion the first Sunday of every month. They assist with the ceremony of welcoming new members into the church. The Diaconate has budgeted funds available that are distributed for emergency needs of our church members as well as others in the community. Refreshments for the community, Tree Lighting ceremony are provided by the Diaconate, and their help is sought for the solicitation of area businesses to donate to the Silent Auction at the Summer Fair.
