Would you like to learn some basic mindfulness techniques to help manage the stress in your life?
In the Eastern tradition, yoga and mindfulness-based practices provide “healing." In the Western tradition, mindfulness is said to offer psychological and physiological “benefits.” While the wording is different, the origins and results of both traditions, centuries apart, are essentially the same: finding your inner refuge.
Each week of this 5 week series offered by Monica Sawyer: school counselor, RYT-200 yoga instructor, Reiki Master and meditation teacher, will offer breathing techniques, a gentle yoga sequence (both on the mat and adapted for chair yoga) and understanding of the ancient 8 limbs of yoga and components of the modern day mindfulness movement. Meditation techniques will be taught along with Reiki basics and aromatherapy for stress reduction.
Wednesdays at 7:30 AM: 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14
Sundays at 4:00 PM: 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11, 8/18
Cost: $60 per session
