The Care and Concern Committee offers temporary assistance to the people in our congregation who need a helping hand.
With help from a solicited group of volunteers, we offer the following:
A. MEALS—to carry folks over a difficult period of time after they return home after a stay in the hospital, or during the time of
recovery from an accident or a serious illness.
B. TRANSPORTATION—to provide rides for those who are unable to drive themselves to church, a medical appointment or to the grocery store.
C. CARDS— of sympathy, congratulations or “get well” are sent to members of the
congregation.
D. HANDYMAN SERVICES—Assistance with small “fix-it” situations around the home.
E. VISITATION— Visits to folks in the hospitals, nursing homes, or for those who lack the ability to get out and socialize on
their own.
F. PLANT DELIVERY—We deliver lilies at Easter and poinsettias at Christmas to those who have a new birth in the family or have lost a loved one in the prior year.
During the month of March, the committee solicits volunteers from the congregation. These people, who have willingly signed up to provide one or more services, are reached by a committee member when a need arises.
In this way, with the help of our many volunteers, we are able to reach out and care for our church family.
